Pam Coletti, CDA, BS

I have been Certified dental assistant for forty + years. I currently serve as President Rhode Island Dental Assistants Association along with serving on the education committee. I am retired from CCRI after 42+ years of service as the laboratory coordinator and adjunct faculty in the Dental Assisting Program, as well as a member of their Advisory Board. I attend Rhode Island Board of Dental Examiners meetings and Oral Health Commission meetings. I have been a lead volunteer at the mission of mercy for four years. I am looking forward  to serving as president of the association and my goal is to recruit new members.

President Elect

Virginia Cairrao, CDA, FADAA

Vice President
I am a proud member of the American Dental Assistants Association and have been since 1983. I have been a certified dental assistant since 1985 and achieved my ADAA Fellowship in 2009.I have served in many leadership positions in the RIDAA. I have been an RIDAA Delegate to ADAA Annual Session, Secretary, President and Chair of several committees. My Leadership positions in the ADAA have included First District Trustee, Secretary, President-Elect, President and Immediate Past President.  I currently serve as President of the ADAA’s Foundation, The Professional Dental Assistants Education Foundation.  This Foundation raises monies to provide education for dental assistants through the ADAA.
I think it is very important for people with professions to be active in their professional organizations. It is important to keep up-to-date on the latest technology and rules and regulations regarding our duties as dental assistants. I enjoy my profession as a dental assistant, particularly educating people about the connection between dental health and overall health. I enjoy volunteering at Mission of Mercy each year and the social interaction with others in my profession. I also serve on the Advisory Committee at CCRI. I am married with three children and 2 dogs. When not working I enjoy watching my children’s sporting events, gardening, sewing and reading.

I became a CDA  in February 1978. I am still current and plan to be current until I retire. I was awarded the Sunstar Americas 2007 Pride Award for  Business Assistant.  I have been a Delegate, representing the RIDAA,  at the ADAA Annual Conference  several times.  I’ve attended the Yankee Dental Conference several years. I have been a choir member and helped the ladies with the crafts that are made for our Church Bazaar.

Diana Barker, CDA

Recording Secretary

I have been a DANB certified dental assistant since May of 2016. My interest in the dental field began when I was a young teenager, through the education I received from the professionals at my dental office. I love being a dental assistant and hope by being with the RIDAA I am able to give back to my community. I serve as the Recording Secretary for RIDAA.  I currently work at a wonderful office in Cranston. In my spare time I enjoy reading, and spending time with my family.

Jillian Fox, CDA

Corresponding Secretary
I have been a dental assistant since 1984. I received my certification in 1986. I am a member of the RIDAA and the ADAA. I have worked for Dr. Norman Seggel since 1984. I enjoy helping my patients understand the procedures they are going through. Keeping them calm and laughing through their procedures make the time they spend in the chair short and sweet. I have volunteered at the Rhode Island Mission Of Mercy and Yankee Dental Congress.

I am a member of both the Rhode Island Dental Assistant Association and the American Dental Assistants Association and I am currently the Immediate Past President of the RIDAA. I also am the CDA member of the Board of Dental Examiners through the Rhode Island Department of Health.  Outside of work, I have volunteered on the steering committee for the Rhode Island Mission of Mercy (RIMOM) and with the ALS Association of Rhode Island.  In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family!

Karissa Michaud, CDA

Member at Large

here are many things that make this world go round, but have you ever thought about the power of a smile? A smile is happy, beautiful, strong, uplifting, and so much more. I am proud to say that I am a certified dental assistant and I get to help people improve their smiles, the function of their teeth, and overall confidence with their appearance. Seeing someone with tears of joy after improving the function and esthetics of their teeth is an amazing opportunity, which I am grateful to be a part of. I enjoy being involved in RIDAA! It allows me  to continue to learn and help others within my field.
